If the sun sign represents the external you, what you radiate to the world, the moon is about what's hidden and lies beneath such as emotions, instincts, and the unconscious. I think my moon conflicts with my sun rather than compliment it. Fiery Sagittarius is cheerful, action-oriented, and extroverted. The watery Cancerian moon makes me melancholic, receptive, and withdrawn. These opposing forces are powerfully present and I work very hard at making myself aware of them and trying to balance them. Fortunately, I get help from my coven and Mr. T who has been able to provide me with a certain sense of contentment and security that distrustful Cancer-moon seeks and blossoms when it receives it.
Rising signs are not on the 44 Days list so I'll add that here as well. Like the sun sign, the rising sign is about outward demeanor, but it's more subtle and represents a sort of awakening consciousness acting as a kind of filter through which everything is expressed.
I don't know what time I was born, but I have a window of time and the options are Libra and Scorpio; my coven voted Scorpio. I used to have reservations about the Scorpio-ascendant. Scorpio gets a bad rep in astrology sometimes; it's an intense sign, but I've come to embrace it and I feel it captures me accurately - willful, determined, resourceful, suspicious, secretive, and reserved. Blunt Sagittarius and stinging Scorpio can be an unfortunate combination and you'd shake your head at some of the things that come out of my mouth sometimes. Sarcasm and a ridiculing wit can make a cruel partnership. One Scorpio-ascendant quality about me that is undoubtedly accurate is that I am happiest when I can work from behind the scenes.
The ascendant is largely about your outward demeanor and how the world perceives you. If your sun sign is your house, the ascendant is your front porch and the door leading inside. It almost sounds like your sun sign is what balances your moon and ascendant, but I feel it's the ascendant doing the balancing between my opposing forces.
