When I first say the topic for day 44, I wondered what I'd write about thinking that I don't have a favorite candle. There are many beautiful candles out there. Just recently, at Target with a coven mate, we saw a pretty owl candle. The owl is special to my coven mate and she liked it, but then added she wouldn't be able to burn it because it was so pretty. I can relate to that. I have one candle that I was unable to bring myself to lighting for years because it was special to me and irreplaceable. It's just a white pillar with an image of James Dean. I don't know why I have such a weird thing about James Dean. Anyway, I do light it now, but not very often and not for very long. I use it in a sort of ancestral way for him. Your psychoanalysis on this one is welcome.
My favorite candle is actually a green jar candle that is currently serving as my coven candle. We all received one when we dedicated to the coven. I light it when we're doing work together, when someone is ill, or just needs a boost of energy. It's a nice tradition and one way we stay connected.
Do you have any favorite candles?
Hi, Cosette,
ReplyDeleteI like your blog. I came here from the Wild Hunt...just hunting around. Anyway, I wanted to ask you if you've ever read the book "The Love Spell" by Phyllis Curott? She also has a "thing" for James Dean, which she writes about in the book. :-)
I haven't read that book; thanks for the tip!
